Fast food fun!

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

Yesterday Emily and I walked up to 23rd and 6th to go to Home Depot, but we had to nourish ourselves for the adventure. So where did we go? Two of the craziest (but best) places for food yet.

Pommes is a french fry store; they only sell fries. They have every kind of dipping sauce you can imagine, mango, peanut, pesto, and 30 other crazy sauces. Of course we loved these. :)

But we couldn’t stop there! While we were up in the area we had to go to the Shake Shack. This place always has a longggg line, but it was worth every minute. Emily and I played Boggle while we waited, and the shake and burgers were amazing!

Greatest American Dog spotting!

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Emily and I got into a very fun show about dog training named Greatest American Dog. We couldn’t wait until the next episode was available to watch, and I got into this reality show more than any other. Not surprisingly because it was about dogs!! WOOF!

Ever since watching the show I have always been on the GAD watch, and whenever I saw a dog that was the same breed as any on the show I took a double take. There were at least 2 or 3 people who lived in Manhattan so I figured I would eventually see one. Well, the other weekend Emily and I ran into a couple! The Jack Russell is named Elvis and the little white dog is Preston. So fun!!!

The Braves managed to beat those Mets again today! Here are some choice photos from our outing on Saturday.

This is the last year Shea Stadium will be servicing the Mets, and I am pretty sure they are going to be tearing it down. Emily and I wanted to make sure we saw the place at least once before it was gone, and we went with many friends today. The Mets were hosting the underdog Braves, and the game was really very good.

Long story short there weren’t many runs, but the game was played well on both sides. Braves won, go Braves!

What hit me in about the 6th inning was how much my grandmother loved the Mets. It seemed like she would always have the game on, and of course it was usually at Shea Stadium. Another bit of time passing.

I know you are all dying for a followup to the Baldi Meets a Frenchie post. Well, maybe you aren’t but love these little guys so here is another picture. Emily was the photographer and she said there was a lot of sniffing going on. I’ll let you decide who is king of the sniff.
